Our nation is made up of countless caring and generous people. Chances are, you are one of them! With this in mind, I’d like to ask for just a moment of your time to share with you a little about the work of Reachout America. I hope you will feel moved to support us in some way, big or small.
Reachout America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit which was started 15 years ago by one man as a way to reach out of the darkness of coping with an unexpected diagnosis of MS and the debilitating symptoms that accompany this disease. This man needed something positive to focus his energy on, so he created a charity devoted to bringing enriching inclusive experiences to children with special needs.
Reachout America is here for kids who can’t otherwise participate in activities with their peers. We give these children experiences they wouldn’t have without our help. Reachout America has been providing opportunities for hippotherapy (or horseback therapy) to kids with various special needs for the past 15 years. We also sponsor children with a disability or critical illness to attend the special‐ interest camp of their choice. But we want to do so much more. Please give us your support.
Our nonprofit recently kicked off a very ambitious fund raiser which, if successful, will allow us to expand our work exponentially. The proceeds from this fund raiser, along with any charitable contributions and sponsorships we receive, will enable us to substantially increase inclusive opportunities at camps and classes across the U.S. by providing the care‐givers and supportive equipment necessary for children who are critically ill or have congenital or acquired disabilities. A percentage of the funds we receive will also be allocated to the development of a new outreach program to assist displaced and homeless at‐risk youth. Reachout America will cover the travel expenses for kids who have a loving home to return to, and we have preliminary plans in place to offer safe refuge in a supportive environment, and the chance to learn essential life and work skills, for those who don’t. To fully realize the positive impact Reachout America can have in the lives of deserving children, we need the help of people like you.
